Cycle-breaker. Sounds like another buzzword, doesn’t it? A made-up word. A term for the woke folks. Guess what? It’s all of the above. And thank you Universe for that!
What does “cycle breaker” mean?
It means that you are aware of past generational traumas, see what they can do/have done, and vow to be the one in the family to interrupt and destroy this way of inherited living. You refuse to cause further damage to your children, you grandchildren, their children….. you see where I’m going.
What is “generational trauma”?
It’s a repeated pattern of harmful behaviors, actions, attitudes, and beliefs, etc. that are carried on through familial generations (parent to child, child to grandchild, .. and so on). They’ve been accepted and continued because “that’s just the way it was.” As much as that is a true statement, it’s a damaging one, but one that our families didn’t realize, or care to change. They labeled it discipline.
Denial of generational trauma
There are those family members that will deny that there was any trauma. This will look like defensiveness and those repeated harmful behaviors, actions, attitudes, and beliefs. The cycle breaker could be called names such as spoiled, woke, etc. The family will take their staunch stand because they don’t believe it, or don’t want to believe it. Don’t let this shake your ground.
How to break the cycle
It all begins with awareness. You realize one day that your memories of certain events don’t sit right with you anymore, if they ever did. You begin to trace steps backwards and see ALL the red flags. Then you decide to not repeat those harmful behaviors, actions, attitudes, and beliefs.
How to heal your trauma
As an energy healer, this is my favorite part… the helping part. There are several effective ways to achieve healing and relief:
· somatic breathwork
· Higher-self meditation
· Yoga
· Reiki
· lucid dreaming
· journaling
· boundary setting
Just to name a few.
But know that whatever method(s) you choose, it will take time. Be patient with yourself, and be proud of yourself for reaching this point.
More and more each day, people are realizing their past traumas and how they affect their present. As an energy healer, I am so grateful for this shift in our collective human consciousness. There has been so much progress made, but so much more to go.
Give love where there isn’t any.
Namaste
